The scary connection between your feet and skin cancer
Applying sunscreen on a daily basis is the most effective way to protect your skin against harmful UV rays but it turns out skin cancer could be in places you wouldn't even think of applying SPF. How is it possible to get skin cancer on places that rarely gets any sun exposure? A clinical observation suggest that mechanical stress such as plantar pressure and shear stress are involved in the development of melanoma on the sole. So-called “Plantar” areas are places that receive the most pressure like the heel, ball of the foot and side of the arch. It is recommended to see your Dermatologist at least once a year for a skin exam. Make sure your Doctor is also screening the sole of your foot.
